Anne M. Koehlinger is a budding entrepreneur who hopes to one day start her own restaurant. Her passion for business began at a young age when she started her own jewelry business many years ago during her summer break. She built the business at her family’s lake house and sold her jewelry to neighbors. To prepare for her goal of running a restaurant, Anne M. Koehlinger is currently enrolled in a Culinary College pursuing her Bachelor of Arts in Culinary Studies.
In her free time, Anne M. Koehlinger enjoys volunteering with her church (Holy Family Parish). In 2011 she took part in the church’s Food Assistance Program by visiting a local elementary school and educating students about food preparation. She and a co-curricular leader also showed these elementary school students how to decorate cupcakes. The next year, she once again taught a course on cupcake decorating for a Rose Elementary School class of kindergarten students. While working with another community service organization for her church, Public Action to Deliver Shelter (PADS), she helped prepare and deliver food for the homeless as part of a county-wide homeless support outreach program. Holy Family Parish still hosts PADS events every Sunday, allowing homeless men and women to get food, participate in a wide range of activities, and have a warm bed for the night.
Anne M. Koehlinger’s other favorite hobby is photography. She spends much of her time reading and blogging about how photography skills can be used to market a restaurant and customize its menu. Her family often takes trips overseas and one trip in particular, a summer vacation in Paris, is what sparked her interest in culinary arts. Anne M. Koehlinger was impressed by the role food played in Parisian culture and hoped to instill a similar food culture in the United States.
